A new life changing experience in Turkey
Welcome! Thanks for taking interest in my page, I promise you will not be disappointed, let’s start, shall we?
I will tell you my secret.
I am absolutely terrified of going to the other corner of the world, crossing the sea, being in a different culture and being on my own. But lately, I have rather chosen the challenging and scary, over the easy and comfortable. Because this is who I want to be, a brave human being that will change something in this big world.
A few things about me that you should know are that it is not about me.
A few years ago I was drawn to discovering myself trough the guidance of my big brother. I was afraid of talking to people, of talking in public, and openly having a conversation with my parents and with his help I was able to overcome my fears. He was by my side up until college in order to become my best self and he has always been a source of inspiration and motivation to me. As life has its ways to teach us, we no longer have much time to see each other and proposed me to join AIESEC in order to further my personal development. As a new AIESEC member, I strive to not only become better myself, but also to empower the people that surround me in order to give them a sense of accomplishment and peace. For this, I want to discover and learn as much as I can so I can share with the rest of the world. My ultimate goal is to become a source of inspiration to people and empower them, as my brother empowered me.
I can say that I am a simple person in action but at the same time distinguished from others. Maybe you think about what I mean when I say these things! Well, because I see simplicity in everything, in every activity, I think you can do anything, not all the same well but you can do it, there is a solution for anything, for anyone. I am a people’s person and I believe in the humankind’s potential. I feel fulfilled when I think first about the others. Good deeds for someone else lead to good deeds for you. I strongly believe that every human being owns a seed of kindness, but the difference between them is what sprouts from it. My ideal is to represent a source of inspiration for the people surrounding me. I am motivating myself to constantly develop in order to become the example I want to see in the world.
I will volunteer in Turkey, Kocaeli, for 6 weeks (20th February-4th April) and I will teach children about responsibility towards each other, themselves and the world, as well as improve their English language level while sharing specifics of Romanian culture, so that I could project on them multicultural sense.
Speaking Club is the name of the project. Speaking Club is realized in collaboration with language schools or municipality centers, aims to raise multicultural awareness of Turkish Youth, improve their English skills and educate them about different aspects sustainable development and empowers them to act upon it, contributing to SDG 4.7 (Quality Education).
By Speaking Club, we will enable young people to learn English and about SDG in more practical way, making them more culturally sensitive and ready to use their skills and knowledge in future.
The amount of money spent for this exchange includes flight ticket, passport and visa expenses, medical insurance and living costs as low as possible.
